Mass Schedule is Unaffected by new Yellow Zone Restrictions

As of today Northern Manhattan has been designated a Yellow Zone under NY’s COVID-19 safety rules.

This new designation primarily affects dining establishments. Houses of Worship are still permitted to operate at 50% capacity. There will therefore be no changes to the Shrine’s Mass schedule, though we have opted to cancel our Wednesday night music meditation for the time being.

  • We note that the Shrine has chosen to operate at a maximum of 25% capacity throughout the pandemic. We have done this because we wish to keep everyone as safe as possible.

  • We continue to leave the upper windows open where possible and to open the lower doors to improve air flow.

  • We continue to ask everyone to sanitize their hands upon entering the building.

  • We continue to require all visitors to wear a face mask that coves nose and mouth. This is a NY State requirement.

  • We continue to use 6′ distancing in our pews and to sanitize the entire facility after each Mass.

Finally, as announced last Sunday, we are in close communication with St. Elizabeth’s Church so that we are able to pivot readily to any new developments.
