Exciting news! The Archdiocese of New York has designated St. Frances Cabrini Shrine as a sacred pilgrimage site for the 2025 Jubilee of Hope.
This means that when you make a pilgrimage to the Shrine during the Jubilee year, attend Mass, make your confession, pray for the intentions of the Holy Father, and practice detachment from sin, you will receive a plenary indulgence.
Which raises the question: what’s a plenary indulgence? It’s the complete removal of the temporal consequences of sin. If that sounds confusing, we suggest this short video for a good overview of what indulgences are and how they can be a tremendous help in your spiritual life.
Next month we will announce the Shrine’s line-up of Jubilee events. These will include:
- A new exhibit on Mother Cabrini and hope
- Monthly “Evenings of Hope” in both English and Spanish
- Talks by noted speakers
- A Music of Hope concert series
- A series of community days with hands-on projects designed to bring hope to marginalized populations
The full lineup of events for shrines across the country (including here) will be updated regularly here.
