A Grand Celebration!

Mother Cabrini was born on July 15, 1850. This year we will celebrate her birthday the Friday and Saturday beforehand.

On Friday, July 12 at 8:30pm we will screen the movie CABRINI on the Shrine’s lawn. Bring a blanket and your own refreshments. Free, though donations are always welcome. Presented in conjunction with Inwood Art Works. In case of rain the movie will be shown on Saturday the 13th, same time.

On Saturday, July 13 we begin our day at 10am with a talk by Eugenia Forteza, who play Sister Umilia in CABRINI.

At 11am we celebrate Mass in English with Fr. Michael Bruno, Dean of Students at Dunwoodie Seminary. You will have the opportunity to personally venerate a first-class relic of St. Frances Cabrini following the Mass.

At 12:45, Julia Attaway, the Shrine’s director will present REEL and REAL, a talk about what’s fact and what’s Hollywood in the movie.

Then at 3pm we will celebrate Mass in Spanish with Bishop Josu Iriondo. You will have the opportunity to personally venerate a first-class relic of St. Frances Cabrini following the Mass.

Barbecue will be available for purchase throughout the day.
