Last week Ms. Marion Higgins stopped by the Shrine. As a young girl her arms and hands were completely covered with warts, and other children refused to touch her or hold her hand.
When she was seven her father brought her to a specialist, who documented the condition and then burned two of the warts off.
That night, while Marion was sleeping, her mother placed a third class relic of St. Frances Cabrini in the little girl’s bandaged hands and prayed to Mother Cabrini. The mother had been to visit Blessed Mother Cabrini in the high school chapel in 1941 or 1942, before the canonization.
When Marion awoke the next morning the warts were completely gone. The only trace they were ever there is two small scars… from the warts that were burned off by the surgeon.
St. Frances Cabrini, pray for us.
